谢谢谢谢 ---------- Thank you and Merry Xmas to you and your family too, dude~ er... 墨尔本相见美女,一般都要到晚上去clubing,而且要去Asian的club,Which i have only been to once... not a big fan of clubing... 不然LZ的光辉形象在我心中会大打折扣的 tonight is christmas eve! everyone merry christmas and happy new year!! PWC的人更惨,被我的boss干脆说 'can you please leave, my people need to work at the moment.' Anyway... I'm a guy, not a lady,呵呵。 Where the bloody hell are you? But, we aussies, mate~ who cares? That's the aussie spirit! 但是如果对方说着说着开始说, so where did you go to school,mate? 我在几个大的function里面都有人bump into,说,'jeees, finally! so you aussie mate? got ya from your accent!' 下次有朋友去了澳洲被陌生的澳洲人说‘mate, how do you like Australia?!' All good mate! All good!' 别人肯定把你当自己人,哈哈哈... cheers, guys, have a great night! |
2009-12-27 08:07:01 hey Scorpio_CJ... I studied for master in finance in uk and just graduated this month...actually your career is what I want to pursue.Luckily I got a final ac at RBS for research and strategy role in jan. However, Competition here is really fierce given the few vacancies.Sometimes they even didn't recruit ppl for the vacancy opened to apply.(9000+ ppl applied include me for JP's AM role, they just send out rejection for everyone after our long long wait). Secureing a job here in IB(front office) is dead hard, esp for chinese(for me, language issue). When lots of local candidates from oxbridge and LSE sit besides me, I can only keep my finger crossed and try my luck.Sometimes, I even got lost and try to figure out where is my next desitination (HK,SZ,SH...)if I can't get hire here.I am kind of the risk taker but still quite stressfuly. My background might not good enough but ok for cv screening.I graduate from MBS, not a first tier uni graduate(Oxbrdige,Lse),pass cfa for two level in last year when i studied for master.I think my performance in F2F interview is ok.if senior manager like me and my personality, I normally can make through to final ac. But the question is my language is no good enough to ensure I perform well in group discussion when the discussion become chaotic and others(say presentation) :( any tips for ac or my future career path... I think I better get the chance to chat with you !lol! would you mind checking your PM :) cheers mate.. Merry Xmas and Happy new year guys!!! -------------------- LoL mate, maybe you can write out your experience in the interview and share them around here too! I'm sure people here like me will be interested on how you tackle the questions and how you polish your resume to make it stand out, also, what you think is the most important in the resume and the following interview... right, back to your Q: first thing first... Try your best for your final round with RBS, i know they still want to expand, and need people although they had an extremely bumpy ride in 2008 and 09. don't freak out by those locals in the final round, especially the discussion. look, the logic, what i think, goes like, if they really need someone who can fight against other / others on the table with british accent, you probably wouldn't be a good fit when you actually start working even if you get the offer somehow... So... by all means, try to be yourself and be confident in the final round. What do they say? Their lose as much as you do if they didn't spot your talent and gave you a chance. And 2nd thing, Asia is always the (i mean THE) place for Expats like us in the longer run. HK, Singapore, Shanghai, Beijing, Shenzhen have a lot more opportunities for us to shine in the career. Not only the initial offer for us to get on board, but also the stage for us to perform when we actually start working in the region. It's always good for us to gain 1 or 2 years work experience overseas in the developed countries. but hey, it won't hurt if you didnt. I don't think it's wise to fight to death for an Americans or Australian to get a job in China among all those Tsinghua or peking uni graduates, only because they had studied uni in beijing or shanghai... Samething applies for us too... We dont have to work in the UK, US or AUS, or Canada before we actually come back to Asia. It's good that if we had the work experience, but it's definitely not end of the world thing if we don't. So, yeah, you have a lot of opportunities down here mate~ keep fighting, never give up~ Good luck with all the interviews~ |
